Giant’s Causeway
By: Katelin Kukk
Located in Northern Ireland, the Giant’s Causeway is a popular destination to visit and has become a symbol of that region. It is made up of around 40,000 large polygonal shaped columns of basalt in almost perfect horizontal sections.
It has inspired a legend which depicts of a conflict between an Irish giant named Fionn Mac Cumhaill and a Scottish giant named Brenandonner. Fionn started to build a path to Scotland using stones to confront the Scottish giant, but the path was destroyed by Brenadonner before he could make it. Now it leaves behind the remnants of his path.
