Tampa Station Report
Billy Timms here with Nature and the Environment. Checking in from Tampa station where we’re learning a lot about a lot of things. I’m in Florida studying predators for the magazine. Working on brown pelican and bottlenose dolphin articles, but I’ve been learning a lot about other species. Some friendly, some not.

Florida water sports are top-notch. Hands down, among the best. But there are dangers lurking in these tempting waters. The venomous snakes and snapping turtles are dangerous, but not near as threatening as the American alligators.

Alligators have evolved to blend in with Florida wetlands, making it extremely difficult to spot in their natural habitat. They are ambush predators who wait for prey to wander past.
