Martin Luther King Jr. was a civil rights leader who made history by tirelessly fighting for the rights and dignity of all people worldwide. He contributed to the American Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s and delivered his most famous speech, “I Have a Dream”, to change the thoughts on segregation and racism within America. King was also known for his nonviolent protest methods, including marching and boycotting.
Martin Luther tragically died in 1968 when James Earl Ray murdered him. His death launched riots across the country. We celebrate and memorialize his life on the third of every January to reflect his tribute to bringing hope and peace to America.
