Air Quality Awareness Week

Know Your Air

This week we’re following the guidance from numerous United States agencies in bringing awareness to the air we breathe and how our actions can contribute to better or worse air quality.

Thank you to all who facilitate this important week-long event, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Department of Energy, Fish and Wildlife Service, Forest Service, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, and National Park Service.

What Can We Do?

What can we do to increase air quality? Good question!  Here are some ideas to try:

  • Reuse, Reuse, and Recycle! Every little bit helps!
  • Be a Responsible Consumer! Limit Waste and Buy for Longevity!
  • Go electric! Car, Stove, Lawnmower… Whichever Works for YOU!

Here are some more ideas from the staff here at BioTriad. We’re working on these little changes, and you can too!  You can also do an internet search for, “Public Service Recognition Week,” or come up with a plan of your own!

  • Catch a ride or give one.
  • Ride a bike instead of a car.
  • Take one less trip to the store.
  • Let your car idle one minute less.
  • Adjust your thermostat by one degree.
  • Turn your water heater down by one degree.

Whatever you do in support of better air quality is a step in the right direction. Go forth and be environmentally conscious, good people!
