The Knight Inlet

Photographs by expert wilderness photographer Rolf Hicker

Knight Inlet is located in coastal British Columbia on the mainland northeast of Vancouver Island, in the traditional territory of the Awaetlala and Da’naxda’xw people.

British Columbia’s Klinaklini River is fed from glaciers, creeks, rivers, and mountain lakes. Klinaklini empties into Knight Inlet, one of the true natural beauties of the Pacific Northwest.

The transient orcas, Bigg’s Killer Whales, are among a plethora of wild animals that can be found in Knight Inlet.

Knight Inlet is among the longest saltwater fjords on the British Columbia coast. It cuts through the Waddington Range of the Coast Mountains, with steep slopes rising from the shore to rocky cliffs. It is a pristine haven for wildlife and a wonderful destination for nature enthusiasts.
