Fawn Season

Spring Fawns

Just a quick reminder: If you come across a fawn, leave where it is. Unless the little deer is visibly injured or ill, don’t touch it. People often find a fawn curled up on the ground seemingly abandoned, and think it needs saving. But that’s what they do. They lay still and wait for danger to pass. Don’t worry, the mother will most likely be back for her baby buck or doe!

Fawns are born with a natural camouflage coat. They are nearly odorless and can remain completely still for quite a while.  They may look scared, and they are. Scared of you!  Leave them alone.
