Wildland firefighters do the job most people couldn’t do. Fighting massive fires on the ground or in the air, these firefighters have extensive training to know what to do for each scenario. First-time firefighters must attend classes to learn tactics and behavior to control fires.

These firefighters work long, hot, demanding days, suppressing fires, raking, digging, and more. When the grueling workday is done, they come back to fire or spike camps to sleep in tents. The firefighters are away from home for 14 + days, ensuring all assignments are done and fires are out.
